We may be a small team, but our hearts are boundless. We’re a couple of Gen Xers who grew up fighting against bullies, injustice, and hate. As proud mothers of adult transgender sons, we’ve learned the importance of standing up, speaking out, and fiercely protecting those who need it most. We had to take action. The catalyst for this project came from something deeply personal. We understood, through conversations with countless others, that many LGBTQ+ individuals in these regions are being forcibly pushed out of their homes after being rejected by their families. Stripped of resources, often without money, transportation, or support systems, they face increased risk of violence, homelessness, and even suicide. It was clear: we had to do something tangible, something immediate.
I thought to myself, “I have a spare room. I have wifi, hot water, food, and most importantly, I have love to offer. If I can help one person escape a life-threatening situation, I will. Maybe there are others like me, who also want to help, but just don’t know how to find each other.”
And that’s how The Endangered Human Species Preservation Project was born. We are dedicated to offering direct support to LGBTQIA+ individuals in North Texas who have been rejected or displaced from their homes. What we provide goes beyond just a safe place to sleep: we offer a welcoming environment where people can rebuild their lives, find hope, and get the support they need to move forward.
Our work is simple but powerful:
But this isn’t just about what we can do alone. It’s about what we can do together. We believe in the power of community—of found families who come together to protect and uplift one another. We know that when we work together, we’re stronger.
We are actively seeking individuals, organizations, and communities who are willing to support these brave young people in their journey to safety and healing out of red states. Here's how you can get involved:
If you’re interested in helping, or even just offering words of encouragement, please reach out. You can contact me directly through the contact link on this page.
My first priority is always safety—both for those in need and for those who offer their help. Building trust and strong, protective relationships is at the core of this work. Before any connections are made, I will expect several conversations to ensure that everyone is safe and that there is a clear understanding of the process. This might seem obvious, but I want to make sure we are all on the same page.
Together, we can create a network of support that offers real, life-saving help to those in need. Let’s make sure no one is left behind.
